Red Sea tank/stand design issue?

Red Sea Peninsula 500 question. I set up my tank/stand and followed the instructions to the "T". I was very meticulous about the set-up and getting it perfectly level. Concerned however about how it is sitting on the stand. The picture below is taken from the bottom looking up and the longside bottom of tank. You can see that there is a 1/4" gap from the inside edge of the glass to the black foam cushion where it rests. Given the reported issues of leaks (especially along the long side) it seems to me that the edge/joint of the glass edge and silicon should be resting on the foam cushion, however the dimensions of the stand/cushion is about 1/2" to narrow. Maybe this is OK and by design, but it just doesn't look right to me. Any thoughts, ideas and/or suggestions?

Unfortunately, I'd have to agree with you considering the seam issues that RedSea has had. Have you contacted RedSea directly?
