Anyone ever sea their Red Sea test kit vials for Mag do this after dumping a test and rinsing it out in the sink?

How do you clean this up to remove the deposit? I noticed it started clouding like this during the test when adding the final solution.

You want to get that off, I use q-tips and water. I'm sure there's an easier way but that's the way I don't it and it takes forever

Yea, looks like mineral buildup. Do you rinse it immediately after use? If not, it's likely a buildup of stuff from the test. If you are, then I'd bet you are letting it air dry with tap water then this is likely typical mineral buildup. Rinse with DI after tap water to prevent it.

Yeah I normally rinse in tap and then follow up with an acetone rinse... But last night I tested multiple times and each time I just rinsed with tap and moved on. The last test left the residue. Lesson learned.

I use Q-Tips and rubbing alcohol, then a good rodi rise and air dry. I do this once a month, you'd be surprised the difference between a used vial and a brand new one. Mine never got as bad as yours.

Hmm, I store all my test vials in a little Tupperware container with vinegar... Rinse the outside with tap and rinse the inside with the water I will be testing. Test. Rinse, shake out, return to container.

I would think vinegar would clean that up. I always rinse out my glassware with tap water and then rodi and each several times. I have not seen any build up. If vinegar does not work get some muriatic acid dilute to 10 percent in rodi. It should really work. It is also good for cleaning coffee stains on coffee cups. But be sure to do the dilution in a well ventilated place.

It's also more gentle on pumps/powerheads when used to clean.

Thanks. was about to post my own question about this. The forum search feature does wonders though. :) vinegar + rodi it is.
