Just out of curiosity, do those of you that dose this follow the 1ml per 20ppm calcium dosed? If not, then how much

I use a calcium reactor. So the math doesn't work for me. Randy suggested I start with testing of course and see where I'm at and then starting low. And seeing how much it brings it up and what I'll need to maintain. And to maintain proper levels I only need 2ml a day

I run a CaRx too, and began with 10 ml/week on a 240. I upped it to 15 ml/week and I’m under dosing it. I test for K, and I’m slightly under what I should be. I found no answer on how to dose with a CaRx so I just chose and stuck with a low point.

So to give you a better idea of my system and uptake...also I do test iron, potassium( which is always a pain in the butt) and iodine about once a week usually every other. My system is a mixed reef(85g) 75g sump(50g of water volume) and a sps frag tank(30g) so about 150g total water volume system, and 2ml a day keeps my right on target, sometimes it drifts slightly low current I'd rather be a little under than over, bc when I do a water change itll get it back to where it needs.

I can say since dosing, that my tank has definitly shown more color, not so much in the acropora, but the gonipora expecially my pink ones glow. My zoas are all very intense colors now as well. My acros really have taken a turn for the better since I added the red sea reef nutrition to the mix. I dose 10ml/day for A and B. (Which is on the light side for a mixed reef) and it's already made a difference.

I use the 20ppm calcium method in my Red Sea S650 and use just under double the dose in my new 530usg system as that uses a calcium reactor. I just ‘estimate’ the dose.

I use Giesemann iron and iodine tests and Salifert potassium and strontium tests. I prefer doing all the other tests than the strontium test, it's a real pain.

I got Hanna's iron and iodine tests, but I sent them back, they are not appropriate for salt water.

I tried performing all tests I had at once. Never again.

Strontium is not included in any of the 4 bottles, so I dose it separately.

I use the iodine, potassium and strontium tests to keep close to the optimum levels. I use the iron test to make sure I am not completely overdosing it, since the test isn't accurate enough to measure an appropriate iron level for a reef tank.

I dose the 4th bottle according to the generic Red Sea recommendations of 0.3ml per 100 litres of tank water.

I do an ICP test 2 or 3 times per year.

I think I am just going to do a third or half of the recommended dose just to be safe.

I have an IM Nuvo 40. With approx 31g water volume.
I started dosing the Red Sea colors 1ml each monthly. But since a relatively recent declination in iodine I am now dosing 1ml each twice a week. I do test for iodine/potassium/iron about weekly. So far so good. Everything is growing well with good colors. Even my nitrates/phosphates...
