Hi guys, how's everyone doing.
So again I'm having different readings between my red sea and hannah checker test kit. I've been using red sea to test phosphate and always get 0.18 - 0.2. Just got a hannah checker and it reads 0.90. I had the same issue with Calcium and Alk tests.

If it's the ULR Phosphate, it reads in PPM. If it's the ULR Phosphorus, it reads in PPB and you have to do the conversion ( Reading x 3.066 / 1000) to get PPM. If it's the ULR Phosphorus, taking 9 and doing the conversion you get .027, which would be a very good place to be.

Are you making sure the cuvettes are clean before testing (no finger prints)?

Thanks. Unfortunately it's ULR phosphate that I have. And it does read in PPM. Which will mean I have ridiculously high phosphate. But my red sea shows normal range. Who do I trust?

What does the tank look like? If every thing looks great you may have a bad unit. Is the Hanna checker new? If the checker is brand new and every thing looks good I will have to back track and say there is something wrong with the unit. Are you following the directions exactly? Cuvette clean and dry?

This is critical with the Hanna. I use a microfiber cloth to ensure my cuvette is clean (externally) prior to taking any reading. Secondly, after each testing I use vinegar and a test tube cleaner, followed by an RO rinse, just to make sure there is no residue in the cuvette or lid.

Also make sure and follow the directions for accurate result. A video I watched from hannah stated that it needs that 5 min or so time period to provide an accurate result. So the 2 mins of mixing then start your 3 min countdown on the checker

I clean mine with RO water, I'm gonna start introducing vinegar. However, this is a brand new equipment. So that shouldn't be the problem.

The tank looks really good for the most part. I do see a tiny bit if alea build up but I ripped them off before they had a chance.
