I been fighting RSA for months now. Ive done black out and everything. This stuff has done taken over and killed one of my corals ive tryed everything to.lower phosphates and nothing is working. Ive cut down on feeding to once every two days. I went nd bought ultra life red slime removal. Has anyone had any success with this product of can share any info on it.

I don't know what or how to use GFO. I do use a RODI it has new filters, The food I use is pellets. I will look and get the name off BRS. New life Spectrum every where I called said it would work. so I wanted to ask

I stopped using pellets and flake food a long time ago, its very high in phosphates. Are you using a canister filter? I had a problem with cyano whenever I used one. If you have a sump you can put a bag of gfo ontop of your return pump. Media reactor is the best way tho.

I have a all in one biocube. No canister filter. I do 20% WC weekly and i switched over to filtration that removes phosphates. I just dont know how to win this battle. Its frustrating me so much i am about to just do away with the tank and all

In my case the only thing that worked was Dr. Tim's Waste Away. Started low and then worked my way up. In 4 weeks all the red slime was gone. Make sure your don't use any other bacteria product or it will cause NO/PO to spike. Plus I had my Mg closer to 1500 while doing the Waste Away. Read about Waste Away on some forum and it really worked in my tank. I have not had to use it again in over 8 months but I guess it does not hurt to keep using it since it's just bacteria.

you need to adjust feeding and lighting and add macros or other algaes so the macros and other algae are consuming the nutrients (ammonia, nitrates, phosphates) not the cyano.

Keep trying on the lights out and stopping feeding. Sometimes it takes a couple of blackouts. And when you resume start with 1/2 lighting and feeding and adjust so the corals and macros grow but no the cyano.

my .02

Mangroves are not as efficient as other macroalgaes for nutrient export. I like to use chaeto.

Okay i dont use a sump so would display macros work. Also if i put display algea in the tank will my snails eat it
