Red Slime Algae

Hey everyone! I have a tiny bit of red slime in my 20g. Can I get some causes/effects/benefits/negatives/solutions? Thanks!

It happens, pretty natural process. It can happen in a low nutrient system just like a high nutrient system. I have it growing in my skimmer and sand bed from time to time. I think its due to dosing amino acids since my nutrients are near undetectable. Good flow, wet skinming, not overfeeding, all help reduce cyano,

Few months. Never had it before

Its probably a good sign that your tank is maturing.. However, if its getting worst then you need to evaluate your source water and nutrient export.
