my tank is doing pretty good. But I’m starting to have red spots in my sand bed. I tested my nitrates and it’s 0 to 5. But I’m still confused why this is happening. I have a color spectrum sump with Sea lettuce and marine blocks.

Yes it’s cyano. Any idea on how to get rid of it?
You don’t. It’s part of your sand beds ecosystem. Cyano is one of the most primitive forms of life. It means your sandbed is living and healthy, it’s a good thing.

im just getting scared cause it went from a small spot to a larger spot. I was thinking about getting more conks. I've been dosing esv transition plus. I don't know that effected it.

ok. I just got scared cause Ive read that cyano can kill the tank. I've been dosing esv transition plus and I thought that's what caused it. I've also read that it could be cause of lack of wave movement but I have the nero 5

If it’s above the sand and on rocks, yes more flow helps. If it’s just below your fine. Once you get more members in your clean up crew it will be broken up and not keep growing in size . Nassarius snails are good for sand beds.

Yes, Nassarius snails are cool. You put them in secretly and then ask your wife or gf to feed the tank when you're not around one evening. They burst out of the sand and rampage around for food :)
