Noticed when I have only the blue lights on, my live rock has started to grow a lot of red spots on it. There’s more than this picture shows

Anybody know what it could be?

Red algae.
Keep an eye on it so it doesnt develop into red Cyano bacteria

Can you get a pic with less blues in it? Its hard for me to sat anything with so much blue.

Just guessing from what's visible in the pics but I would say its coraline. A pic in all white light will help in getting a more accurate answer. Also you could blast it with a turkey baster and such and if it doesnt blow off its coraline or a coral attached.

I can’t really see it with the whites, couldn’t get a picture.
But with the blues it’s this bright maroon glow.. it’s starting to grow on all of the rock.

I will try with a turkey Baster tomorrow

If its growing that fast it's probably cyano but it would be red under white lights too.

Did you ever figure out what this was? I'm noticing these spots showing up on my rock as well

Does it look like this? No one seems to be able to tell me what this is. Very difficult to remove, needs to be scrapped with a stiff brush

It’s dying or dead coralline. I got it with my KP live rock and it slowly disappeared and when I move a superglued frag it’ll look the same under that.

I’m not 100% on what I said but I had the same thing and posted a thread and that was general consensus
