Hello all,
I just upgraded my 30L to a 100. Cycled rocks previously and moved all contents (rocks etc...) to new tank during switchover. Moved over all inverts, corals, fish. No issues until today. Everything is fine but my wrasse.

How long ago did you move this fish? Could it be bruised from being captured?

When I see a green chromis or a yellow wrasse with "red spots" I do worry about Uronema, as it is very common in both species. That, and then we hear people commonly say, "my fish has a bruise on it", when it is actually Uronema....

Uronema is an intracellular protozoan that normally feeds on bacteria, but in some situations, begins feeding on the fish's tissues. Treatment is difficult - chloroquine (which is difficult to find now) or formalin dips.

It actually looks like it’s dissipated some. Maybe he was just injured hunting in new rocks. Fish have only been in 3 days. Capturing him was difficult. He is pretty lively. Thanks for your help!

I had a yellow corris in my 20 long for awhile and this was a fairly common occurrence. With mine it would scratch against the rocks occasionally to get sand off of him and I think it was just scratching too hard sometimes. Usually when it happened with mine it would only be there for a couple days and it would heal up
