Hello, I have a question I added a red starfish to our well established 12gal nano cube all the levels are perfect salts at 1.024. He was doing fine for 2 days after a 3-4 hour drip and now he's got strings hanging from his body (as you can see in the pictures) it's still very active and doesn't seem to bother him moving. Any ideas what's going on. I'm not to familiar with starfish. Thanks

Is that a linckia? They typically don't fare well in our tanks long term. It looks like it's starting to die. I have seen Some people in here have success with them, however. Hope he pulls through.

Your tank looks fairly new and your water is cloudy. Was it cloudy before you added the star?

Many stars have very specific diets and it's tough to meet their nutritional needs in a nano tank. The exception to this are brittle and serpent stars, which can eat the same foods your fish eat.

It does appear that your star is dying. If your water started to cloud after you added him, get him out now or he will polute your tank. Be sure to carefully monitor the ammonia level in the tank.
