Red stuff on torch skeleton. What is it?

I'm about to dip this and put it in my tank. Do you guys k ow what this orange / red stuff is?

Looks like either a little cyant but more likely some coralline

I see......what exactly is cyant? I'm having trouble finding it online. Is this coral still okay to put in my tank? Just hoping I dont introduce something bad into my tank.

Cyano. Its a bacteria and somewhat common. Brush it off and you can put piece back in tank

I'm not able to scrape it off as its growing into/from the coral skeleton. It's very hard and won't even chip off.....

Most likely foraminifera. They are safe if so.

Do they look anything like these red dots? Also, I see a vermatid snail encrusted in there as well. I’d super glue that guy.

Yep looks just like this...I'm guessing the vermatid snail is the little white guy? Hopefully I didnt just cause an infestation. I'll have to pull it out tomorrow and superglue it....

@Hemmdog was spot on. They’re harmless from what I’ve read. Can you see the vermatid snail on there though? In the middle, little tube sticking out? They bother corals and you can smash the guy at the base or super glue. I recommend gluing because that guy looks well-encrusted.

Just glue the tip shut. It’ll slowly starve it and can’t reproduce.

Well, now what I know what a vermatid snail is.....I also can now identify that these are all vermatid snails. I was wondering why all of the sudden more started appearing on the base of my favorite frogspawn. Kicking myself about not researching a little more to learn about these sooner. Do you guys have any suggestions on how to get rid of such a large quantity? Still superglue....because that's a lot of super glue...

Hard to see in the pic. You can crush their shells at the base. They usually crush quite easily but it’s a pain.

Sorry, here's a closer pic, but bad quality because I'm at work, and tank is at home. Does crushing their shells actually kill them, or just make them go somewhere else? Should I dip the coral after crushing them?

Those almost look like spirorbids, those are harmless filter feeders. Look at spirorbids at the link below to confirm.

As long as it is crushed at the base- you will win, otherwise they retract to the bottom where it's safe
