Boy KJ not so sure on this one. Its full bodied red and to me looks like the start of a macro algae.

If it is the start of a macro algae it will fade out on its own.
It doesn't move when touched right

mine doesn't seem to have a body looks diff then those pics from kj NOT saying its not what it is but looks diff...and just showed up outta no where next to my wave maker

no I did accidently hit an edge on it with my glass cleaner..oooooopppppssss and a piece came off but no it does not retract in or move or anything like that

Its a macro. Completely harmless

Looks like a algae. I have seen the white strands like that on types of Caulerpa.

I have caulerpa in my sump along with chaeto sand and some live rock
