Had bough a red tooth trigger about 2 months ago and he would come out to eat ever once and awhile, and then about 2 1/2 weeks ago I just stopped seeing him. I got a order of new fish in so before they arrived I tore the rock work apart looking for it, and been testing for ammonia spikes just Incase he’s locked in a rock some where dead. But nothing no sight of him. Can anyone shed some light on this it would really be helpful thanks in advance.

Yea this happens.
I had two Lubbocks wrasse that flat dissapeared.
About a month apart from one another.

I have some theories
#1 My Elegance got them. But I did not think it was big enough.
#2 My Rose Bubnle Tip got them. But I did not think it was big enough.
#3 The jumped out of the tank and maybe someday when I move things I will find dried up carcasses under something.
#4 Died in the tank and the CUC did the job.
The strange thing is my CUC is just Troucus snails, and one small Pepermint shrimp.

They were active, and showed no signs of ill health.
One day they were there, the next vanished, about a month apart.

My water volume is around 240g total so I did not bother with an ammonia test.

Thanks ya I’m hoping it will just show up I only have about 120gal total water vol. so I just run the water to the LFS for a test, like I said just to see if there is an ammonia spike to show if it died. So far ammonia has been 0.
