So, I have a 105-gallon bare-bottom, mixed reef that seems to be doing well except for one problem. Red turf algae. This stuff is impossible. And I'm losing the battle as it moves closer to my acros, montis. favias, and chalices. (It just pops up here and there. Arghh)
I'm thinking of the nuclear option. Remove all my rock, removing the coral, and transplanting to new, synthetic rock.
How will this affect my reef?
What can I do to keep my coral alive after they are transplanted?
Will this be enough to get rid of the problem?
Any other options or suggestions?
Thanks!
