Pretty sure it is red turf but I want other opinions. Also any ideas on how to combat it?
Mexican turbos did eat it for a while. Then they died. Two sets of mexicans! ¡Ay, caramba!

You can start by manual removal. Using a smaller diameter tubing with a hard plastic angled end inserted into the tubing you should be able to suck the red turf algae out very easily. You can do this weekly and also do what everyone else is going to tell you by reducing nitrates and phosphates. This stuff also wants nothing to do with anemones so full your tank with them

Something else I failed to mention is suck this stuff into the filter sock within your sump. It will easily remove the algae without a water change however if nutrients are an issue so are water changes. This method also easily removes detritus. Another method is a micron filter. If you choose to scrub the algae off with a toothbrush the micron filter will catch it and polish the water to perfect clarity. After you run the micron filter pull the micron filter and replace it with a cartridge filled with a phosphate reducing resin.

This stuff is NOT coming off of the rock. Even a wire brush is going to struggle. So manual removal is not happening.
Rock removal is not an option as there are corals attached.

I had my share of algal and cyano issues. Always have been able to conquer them one way or another.
This stuff, however, is truly evil.
Need more Mexican Turbos I guess.

I linked a for sure way, did you check it out.

it comes off, bc Ive fixed this about 200 times before, that was just a recent one above

ill edit it out np

Bradon429 is the expert on fluconazole but maybe it would kick this stuff.

I don't mean to offend.... I looked through that linked thread and it seemed to be about dipping rocks in hydrogen peroxide or something like that so I stopped reading. I can't remove and dip.
I do appreciate input though, so thanks.

Can you lower the water level in your tank to expose the turf algae long enough to apply the peroxide straight onto the turf algae? This will weaken that nemesis and then your cuc will probably feast on it.
