...or lack thereof

I've had 4 polyps of red wines for probably 3 months now and they haven't done a darn thing! They were in bright light and now they're in moderate light, I've got a 6 bulb tek T-5 light fixture over a 40 breeder. I feed DT's phytoplankton and frozen cyclopeeze weekly. I STILL have no growth. Am I doing something wrong or are these guys just slow growers?

Mine grow pretty fast for me. I started with two polyps in 12/06 and now I have over 16.

mine are slow sometimes, and pretty good other times. but when i fragged them growth came to a screatching halt.

the 1 polyp frags are just starting to grow after almost 2 months.

awesome growth Chris.. whatever it is you're doing, keep doing it.. :)

it does take them a little while to settle but when they do start growing, they will have 2-4 babies at a time so hang on, you're in the verge of a growth spurt.. good luck to us all.. :D

I have zero growth.....I also have no Red wines so that could be the issue as well. Great growth Chris...

I do not have any of these top zoas you guys are talking about, but all I can say is that the growth looks amazing? Are zoanthids and palys naturally fast growers ar does the growth vary from strain to strain?

Thanks,
Kevin

Not sure why, but my experience with them has been a bit different. Mine have never stopped growing once they settled in. I fragged two single polyps a week ago and the colony has already popped out a couple new babies. The two single polyped frags are doing great. One has two baby polyps and the other has one.

Thanks everyone.

wow.. I'm glad these guys found a home where they can thrive... awesome job Chris.. :)

Chris, what are your tank parameters? I'm especially interested in magnesium levels and what kind of lighting you have them under :)

Thanks everyone!

Chelsey- To be honest I rarely check my levels. I have been growing SPS for awhile and I base everything on the look of the tank(corals). I have them under XM 20K 250w w/ two vho super actinics.

SG- 1.026
Ca- ~460
Alk- 8-9 DKH
Temp- 80-82
Mg- ? (Can't remember the last time I tested)

They were on the bottom of my 75 now they are on the bottom of the Zoa/LPS tank.
