if they "melted" away, you may want to check for Nudibranch's. I had the same thing happen with my PPE's and AOG's, so I FW dipped them and found a Nudi. I got some Flatworm exit, and nuked them all....it is the greatest Zoa Nudi treatment!

Nudibranchs are not an issue is this case, but thanks for the tip.

Marvin, care to share any tips? Additives to the system they were in? Lighting? etc.

With Red Wines, I found that it's easier to accept the inevitable sooner than later. They will break your heart either way.

This is a conclusion after attempting to letting them be, dipping them in Iodine, TMPCC, high flow, low flow, low light, high light, and all intermediary steps to save them.

On another note though - I think lineage does play a role with these 'sensitive' types. If they are 2nd, 3rd Gen. aquacultured Red Wines, they tend to have a higher chance of thriving...or melting away at a slower rate. They key is to receive them in bigger frags, instead of 2 or 3, since I've noticed that in bigger frags, at least one or two polyps survive the meltdown, giving it a chance to grow back.
