Red Zoanthid Colony

Picked up this colony at the lFS yesterday. It's been sitting there for a while and was starting to not look too good. I gave it a good lugols dip when i got home and found 20+ of those little star fish in the zoas. I removed everyone i could see under magnification. Pretty nice color. I'll get a better pic when i move the piece, right now its in against the back wall of the tank behind my powerhead so i had alot to go through to get the shot.

Those are nice! I'm pretty sure those are called zombie eyes. What lfs did you get them from?

I got them from eca, there is about 200 polyps total. i got the colony cause there are a couple polyps in there that are awesome. I don't have the best shot but the polyp shows some promise. This is another one of those colonies that aren't in good shape but im hoping to nurse them back to health. These are my favorite purchases because you never know whats gonna happen.

They never have anything when I go there. I like those ones with the red rings.

Yeah the trick is to know when shipments are coming. The had a few awesome colonies come it a few weeks ago. Spongebob Fireskirts, Purple Fisson, and rpes.

Great pickups! Zombie eyes have always been a favorite for me.

They are all looking so much better today, i can't wait to get some better shots of the colony.
