Hi all! Over the past few months, my tank has gone through various stages of algae outbreaks. Starting at hair algae, to diatoms, to now an unidentified type of reddish brown algae. Keep in mind, I am quite honestly against chemical dosing to remove any type of algea but I feel as if it has gotten so bad that I had taken a step to dose Chemi Clean. The pictures you can see that my sand has gotten very nice and white apart from the right but my rocks still have this reddish brown algae on them. Although it is mainly just on the Center rock with my SPS. Can anyone identify this type of algea and if so what I can do to remove it?

I’m not sure what that is. What’s the consistency? Can it be easily removed? What are your nutrient numbers (nitrates and phosphates)?
