Found a bunch of rusty flat worms on the glass this morning .
nit even sure how long I’ve had them but following looking through the tank in rocks etc there is a bunch .
What’s the safest way to get rid of them ?

will a damsel , six line wrasse eat them fast enough ?

Is flat worm x a last resort ?

im going to try sucking some out later but read it’s bad to kill them all or wait cause they can all die and crash the tank .

the tank is a 230
Large external skimmer ,

I have carbon and chemi pure in the sump

If you can find a blue velvet nudibranch they will no doubt eat them. They only eat flatworms. When it kills all of them it will die or you can pass it on to someone else who has flatworms.

Are they hard to find ?

Not every store has them. I would talk to your local shop to see. They supposedly don’t last too long at a store because they need flatworms

Apparently the store I buy corals from has flatworms .

I just looked , they don’t have blue velvet but they have the white ones for Aptasia

I wouldn’t use that. Personally, if there is a natural fix to a problem I go for it. Chemicals are reserved for things like bryopsis - things with no natural predators found in the reef hobby and can only be killed by chemicals. There are dozens of wrasses out there that will eat them, and it is quite easy to suck or the majority of the worms during a water change.

I just did a water change 2 days ago .
im making up a small air line tubing with a straw to try not to take out too much water .
There are a few rocks covered in them .

If they can somehow find you A blue velvet do that. Mine took care of my problem in a couple of weeks.

Next question ..
does normal coral dip kill flatworms or do I need a different dip ?
Can you send A picture of what you use to do water changes?

Most dips kill most flatworms... if you are vigilant at using a turkey baster to hit every spot of the coral with the dip, all flatworms will die (99%of the time). If you just soak the frags in the dip, it is possible for some pests to survive

Another question ..
Could the sudden population increase be caused by feeding marine snow , reef roids ?
Can they be slowly starved to decrease their population similar to bristle worms ?
