I took down my entire tank and redid my aquascape in the 200G mixed reef. Took all the sand out. Wondering if I should put sand back in the tank. Was thinking about coarse sand this time so I could have high flow. I do have 3 wrasses in the tank - yellow coris, melanarus and 4 line. Is there any reason not to go with sand? I feel sand becomes a NO and PO haven after years. That is the reason I had to clean the tank in the first place cause both NO and PO were through the roof after years of them being low.

Rip cleans can and should be a regular part of maintenance after several years. If you plan to keep wrasses (not an expert on them) then you will need sand but some BB users get away with a container filled with sand for them.
