redish bubble/slime in the fuge

I recently started a fuge in my system which is about 5 months old. Lately I started noticing a redish slime/bubbles floating on top of the fuge compartment. Not a lot but just something that caught my attention.. My Cheato seems to be growing finally after hanging in there for a few months and not really expanding... I have experimented with different lighting and seem to have a sweet spot finally.

My question is should I be concerned with this redish slime... It looks a lot like red algae be it is not on any of the live rock,, just accumulates on the water surface which is where the light is placed.

I am also running an Aqua C 180 skimmer but it is not pulling much skim out, only a cup every 4-5 days.

Appreciate any help or thoughts.

You might need more flow. Your chaeto should be swaying or tumbling with the flow.

My skimmer is dumping directly on top of the Chaeto.. although it's not tumbling,, it's getting plenty of flow .

Might throw in a power head just to keep things stirred up a little more... Can't hurt that's for sure.

My chato doesn't tumble. Yea sometimes I get floaties too.
Yes the powerhead will help stir it back into the system.
It's hard to diagnose because I can see the sump really. But it's likely gunk that would have normally passed through the sump.
