Redlip Blenny strange disease

Hey so I bought a Redlipped Blenny from the LFS around 2 weeks ago and foolishly added him straight to my main system. When I added him to the tank I noticed he was flashing his side on the live rock, breathing lethargically, and yawning. After being in the tank for 2 days there was what looked like white scratches on his side/underbelly. I thought that he may have cut himself from scraping on the rocks. He was staying in the back of the tank in the dark under an overhang most of the time. He was eating a little bit of flakes, mysis, and grazing on film algae. After 4 days of being in the tank he had died and as you can see in the photos, has a large brownish red ulcer/sore on his side near where the white scratches are. He had developed large white blotches under his skin in multiple places. It happened so quick as just last night he was eating flakes and swimming around with just the one scrape on his side, not these new blotches of white. I came to the conclusion that it was a bacterial infection caused by cuts from his scraping on the rocks, but just yesterday my valentini puffer had multiple white spots (looks ike ich?) on him, and my chalk basselet has been flashing and yawning aswell. I hope it's not velvet.

Multiple spots that quickly. On other fish, within a few days sounds like velvet. Also the reclusive behavior. As fish afflicted with velvet are sensitive to light.

Sounds like you might have a couple of things going on in the tank. Excessive yawning is usually a symptom of flukes. Can confirm or eliminate this with a freshwater dip. The white spots and rapid death could suggest velvet.

Thats a picture of the blenny. The puffers spots are gone. They were there yesterday and are gone today.

Did they look like this (below)? How many white dots did you see?

No there were only about 5-6 in total and they were on the puffers fins.

If it was just ich, the white spots should remain for at least 3 days before disappearing. With velvet, it can be as little as 12 hours.

Ok. Any ideas on what the blenny had? Can you see the pictures?

The spots were pretty big like ich ones, ive read that velvet spots are usually small like a powder.

The spots seen in picture are more than likely a bacterial infection. Much bigger than ich or velvet. But could have been a secondary cause.

So ive come to the conclusion that the blenny had ich in his system but died of a bacteria infection from scratching on the rocks because the spots did not look like velvet.
