Any clues what I’m dealing with here?

Seems to be getting worse, the system is about 14 months old

Its usually a sign of having 0 phosphates, commonly seen in new tank syndrom.
You can get some clean up crew that will eat it, but if its a new tank on its cycle id let it be until your cycle is finished.

If its not a new tank, yeah, you should list your water parameters, but im guessing its cuz you have 0 phosphates.
