Got a new clown fish and I’ve noticed redness under the white of the clownfish. It’s breathing rather heavily.

The fish kept hiding and wouldn’t eat. I suspect that this is bacterial infection?

I am acting on it now.

The fish was showing signs but he's not in terrible condition. Hopefully he will recover.

Should you try putting in a pellet or two during the treatment?

High quality frozen foods mixed with some vitamins like Selcon, Zoecon, etc. or live black/white worms, etc. helps the fish's immune system to fight the infection. Remember, the meds don't cure, but rather help the fish's immune system to actually fight the infection. So it's important to try to get the fish to eat and help itself to heal.
