Redose bacteria after 50% water change?

I just completed the first of two 50% water changes after my tank cycled. Since i was at it, I decided to vacuum the sand bed to clean it out some. I didnt rinse the sand initially as it was live sand so its been a little cloudy when stirred. My question is did I disrupt the bacterial population in a way that would require or warrant replacing some of it? I have MB7 on hand

After cycling, NO3 is elevated. So the purpose and intent is to get NO3 down. I'm shooting for around 7ppm or so

You shouldn’t have to clean the sand bed after the cycle completed but I guess a little here and there wouldn’t hurt but maybe I’m wrong here. I think one 50% water change should be fine. What are your current nitrate levels?

I didnt vacuum the sand bed due to the cycle. I did it because the sand wasnt rinsed when i initially filled the tank. About a week after filling the tank, I would stir the sand twice each day. The water would cloud up and my filter roller would handle it. This was just a continuation of cleaning the sand.

NO3 is about 32ppm so to get it under 10ppm, two 50% water changes is what's required.

What you did is fine and not a problem... people with pico reefs do 100% water changes and even rinse the sand. It isn't a problem... thriving corals.

The bacteria are fine. You can't get rid of them that easy.

Live sand might be a scam depending on the brand so I just recommend bottled bacteria anyways. So as long as you added bacteria, I wouldn't worry

How much would you recommend for 115 gal total volume?

I’ll just follow instructions for high nutrient systems. About 25ml

I dose 20ml for my 265g tank every week during water changes.ya of course mine is less nutrients as it's 1.5yrs old system vs yours new
