Please don't take my advice
I never was really interested in corals/ saltwater aquariums until one day, I think it was Feb 2020 I decided to go to my LFS and grab some fish for my roommate's freshwater tank. when I got to the store I saw this two little crabs, emeralds, and fell in love with them, and the next day I told him I wanted us learn about the hobby and got so into it that we bought a cheap AQUEON tank white we saved for a the RedSea170, we live on a third floor apt so we can really have a bigger tank.
April 2020 - Our tank arrived safe and sound, we bought it from Saltwateraquariums.com and the company who delivered it was ABF Freight.
Saltwateraquarius sent me this Redsea test kit for free with our order!!!
Our goodies also arrived on time
The only work out I had during Quarantine , the #$%@ water to the third floor (we buy our water from the LFS, saltwater and RODI)
Decided to go bare bottom for a cleaner look and used the Live rock/corals and fish/inverts that we had on the old tank to put on the new one, so we didn't really had a "cycle" again.
Forward to June 2020, the tank was fully set up but I wasn't really feeling the new aquascape, then I learned that its so much harder to work on aquascape with smaller tanks.
The sump was a mess, cables everywhere
So my roommate and I built ourselves a box to organize all cables and give the sump and organized look, it took us almost an entire day to build it and paint it.
Fast forward to September 2020, I decided to change the aquascape since I didn't really liked it, we drove to WorldwideCorals in orlando and bought Macro rocks, best decision ever, so much easier to aquascape with smaller rocks.
And while there we got ourselves two new little babies, a Finnex Heater with Controller and a MP10 (well will be adding another mp10 later on), they are too expressive and im poor. lol
Started working on the scape in the afternoon
Finished working on the aquascape around 4:30 am but very happy with it. this is it! and decided on using 20 pounds of NATURE'S OCEAN sand to make it a little bit more stable because of the dry rock ( I also dosed TurboStart 900 for a week )
I went to the LFS next day to grab a nice piece of live rock to put I the sump since most of the rocks I used for the Main Display were dry rocks.
Added wish and corals a few days after.
Fast forward to October 2020, I think im now in love with the tank I always wanted, and we are very happy with the way its coming, still have a long way to go before it matures but I think im now ready to let it do its things and not put my hands in the tank anymore .
