Who is running this program? Specifically just the color supplements.

  • How long have you been running it for?
  • Do you follow the guide to dosing by Calcium uptake or are you testing each individual one?
  • Are you following up with iCP testing? If so, how often?
  • Observations? Feedback?
@GoVols I read a thread on saltmixes where you mentioned using it so I figuired I'd tag you!

I use the Mixed Reef recipe which calls for using Coral Colors in the 1:10 colors:Calcium ratio.

I have done 2 ICP tests because they were given to me, both times Iodine came back "low" according to the Triton but the RS Iodine test has it right on.

As far as observations, I have noticed better color out of my chalices and montipora. Other corals, maybe there is a difference, but if there is it is slight.

Thanks for the feedback. I just ordered my first ICP test and went with ATI.. I want to get an idea of my starting point and then check in again in about 6 months or so after initial correction and dosing to the 1:10 ratio to calcium uptake

I’ve followed the entire Red Sea reef program for 2 1/2 years including the Coral Colours and I use Calcium uptake to judge how much to add but I air very much on the side of caution as bad things may happen if you overdose. I probably slightly under dose them

I manually dose them around every 7 days or so.

You can see the results on my build thread, but wether this is because I use the colours I don’t know, but I would guess they must help.

I have never done and ICP test so far.

I used it in the past with great results but moved on to triton method

I started them around 4 months ago. I only dose 10ml of each every couple weeks and have noticed color improvement on many types and colors of corals.

Dosed the Red Sea Color's for about two years and dosed well below the cal's intake.
Fired up a cal reactor about one year ago and dropped the RSC's. After about six weeks, the coral colors still looked good but they were not as deep. So I dosed the Color's twice a week and the coral colors came back.

Never felt the need to pull a Triton with it.

Most of the time I was using the "Blue Bucket" salt mix, but I'm on that DD - Pro mix right now.
It's mixes to the parameter's that I run and keeps the cal reactor tuned in, while making water changes.

To me the Red Sea "Color's and "Reef Energy" are great products.

Playing around with the TM - K and A elements right now, and only dosing 1 - 3rd of the regular dose.
