So my red seas came in 3 days ago and I am absolutely blow away you guys. It is like a Kessil and an Ecotech had a child. I feel that the color is better than echotech and the shimmer is slightly toned down than a kessil for the perfect viewing experience. They are legit plug and play, and they connect to wifi super fast. They come with 3 preset options ranging from 15k to 23k. They can either run very blue to make all the color pop or run at a very natural spectrum. I bought some coral the same day they came in and put them under the lights just to see how they would acclimate and they are already opening their polyps.

The fact that the wifi/custom app is included for 350$ is crazy. 2 of the units perfectly cover my 120 with NO shadowing. Also the way the light is set back in the unit make them ideal for open top tanks. Like I can sit on my couch and not even see the bulbs because they don't have the pucks at the base of the light.

Lastly it comes with so many programming options from you phone. You can add clouds, set an acclimation cycle for new corals and change your light levels by dragging your fingers and not having to program it with your computer. I really feel like they are going to give echotech and kessil a run for their money. I legit have no complaints.

I will take some when I get home or maybe upload a video.

We have these lights too! Would love to see your current light program.

I'ts been a few months I would like to see the video and how you like them as I am thinking about buying two for my new 80 gallon (48"x24"x16")
Thx Phil

I Just Mounted 2 reef spec 90 on my 90 gallon its only been a couple weeks so i don't see dramatic change yet other than color is nicer that what i had before. Whats everyone's take on these that have had them on the tank for a while?

BUMP BUMP C'MON OP!!

Picking up two with my 425xl build, will post photos

I bought a single to go over my 125g this weekend, will def be buying 2 more. The color is richer and more wholesome than my blackbox 165w's. Loving the nightlight function and complete control over programming. Well worth the money imo.

Considering these for my 90 mixed reef... could someone add a bit more detail on their experience or some pics? Can you mount to a tank that has a rim (looking at it and reading about the mounts it looks like I would have to custom build a mount). Would appreciate some feedback after the initial installation.
Cheers, BW

Bump for this. I am thinking of giving them a try and replacing my g4 pros.

Pulled the trigger ang got 2 of the 90's. Made a mount from somr corner brackets (cut them down to size, drilled the hole exactly at 8.5" for height, and painted black - $20 total). Very bright... Very blue (if you run the pre set). I modified the preset and am running with 2 T5's. Don't know about growth... But the shimmer and spread are great.

we also got the LED 90 for our RedSea 170 (34 gallons) and besides looking great, the app is amazing and i think my corals, fish are very happy.

Any issues with dropping of connection as I have read has been happening? How long ago was the purchase?

Running for 2 weeks. No drops... On occasion it takes 20 seconds to connect. Power packs are not hot (running at 65% white and blue). I mess with them too much (only zoas and GSP so far... So not real worried) and they run like they should. I was worried about the same thing. Happy so far. Love the recessed light as they sit above my canopy... No spill. Moon light is too purple for my taste... That's my only complaint.

Thanks for the feedback.

I have 3 Gen4 pros that I got an amazing deal on but I have had Eco tech gear my entire time in the hobby and just looking to try something new. I picked up the Reefwave pumps and now thinking to get full use f the app to get the lights.

Love these lights, great for all kinds of coral. If you decide to get high end, most likely you want something more. Cost effective and functional.

Here is my light schedule. Ramp up in morning and ramp down at night. I have been slowly adjusting my levels of whites to reduce my level of algae.

If anyone has any questions about these let me know :)

Quick question. Are the light mounts adjustable for mounting height or are they a fixed height?

Fixed. You can also hang them on a mount.
