I have the AI Hydra 26 HDs on my Red Sea E-260 and we have the Reef LED 90 on my daughter's E-170. I like both lights, but the Reef LED has an easier app interface and controls. The spectrum from the Reef LED is optimized for corals at the 360-480nm range.

Compared to the hydra is the blue channel on the reef led more of a dark blue/purple?

No, we have it set at 65% blues and 8% white. So it gives light as if you were 40-60 feet down when diving, (I have 300 dives in the tropics under my belt).

Went from a nanobox duo to MS Razor. All I can offer is my experience with MS as I have not had an AI product for several of their generations. Definitely more power, and I can maybe get more blue than I used to. The real downside to the Razor - and it seems all Maxspect lighting products is having to add the wireless control separately. I don't want their big ugly control box - I want integrated Bluefish. Get with the program Maxspect. Otherwise, great light and I don't have to worry about potential issues with cheap one point clamps.

At the moment I have the hydra 26 however I find the blue channels are a light blue. Would you say the Red Sea light has more of a royal blue look?

Yes, I would. I currently have my 26s at 65% UV, 68% Blues, 3% Red & Green and 5% whites. Getting great growth.
