I recently bought a "used" (still all in original packaging) red sea max from a 3rd party application "let go" I love the tank in its entirety, but I do have some questions. The pump on the right hand side when facing the tank is acting odd it does not work at full speed, when turned on in water I have to pull it out and put it right back which is extremely annoying expecially when I have it hooked up to a chiller. One more thing is how do I get the micro bubbles under control from the protein skimmer. I know with my last tank the protein skimmer just needed a few days to run but its been about a week and need to look for a new solution.

I own a Red Sea 130D. I had similar problems. In order to fix my pumps I needed to buy completely new upgraded versions from Red Sea's website. The microbubbles are the worst thing. I couldn't get them to stop. At the moment I'm running without a skimmer due to a breakdown on my current one, but the microbubbles are a common problem and one far beyond me.

It is not appealing to look at, I just want the my water to look clear agian.

Pics? What is pump that it used? A realiable pump is critical. From my experience always have a backup for return in closet. A must have in reefing. That is best advice i can give. Also have a battery backup or some sort for power outage. Ow lets get to the bubbles.

I have another pump if it breaks completely but I like the idea of having all redsea equipment in the tank so it all fits well and looks clean
