Has anyone figured out how many cups of salt in 5 gallons of ro to mix to get 1.025?

1/2 cup per gallon gets me at 1.025 almost every time. I maybe put in a little less than this but not much.

Just to clarify for others who might be interested, are we talking about using the scoop / cup that comes with the salt or are we talking about an actual cup measurement? That scoop/cup that comes with the salt is actually more than a cup.

Measuring cup. Red Sea Coral pro doesn't come with a scoop / cup. At least none of the buckets I've ever bought has.

Yep actual measuring cup...I buy cheap ones at the dollar store to use for my tank stuff...
1/2 cup per gallon get me where I need....

Agreed 1/2 cup per gallon, but I always put in a little less so I don't have to add water if salinity gets too high.

Now I speak with great ignorance because I've only owned one bucket of Red Sea Pro purchased about two years ago (I'm terrible with time as well.) I still have the bucket.....

And you can see on the left of the bucket the note about containing the cup (I just assumed all buckets came with this cup)....

And the cup looks like this...

On the large lip at the top it says, "10L/2.5 gal @35ppt" The bottom of the cup has the Red Sea name and seahorse logo. I haven't actually measured the volume but would guess that it holds about a cup and a quarter......and that would work out to 1/2 cup per gallon.......How do you like that! I learned something today....I never noticed that note on the lip until today.

The cup say one cup for 2.5 gallons for 35 sg. I found that's is wayyyy wrong. I use 5 scoops in ten gallons of water to get a 35 sg

I use a scale and measure in grams

Same here! The weight is listed on the bucket. I zero my postal scale with whatever "scoop" I use to get the salt out of the bucket and measure the weight.

Happy to see the "half cup per gallon" works as well

Using 1/2 cup per gallon initially registers at 35 ppm; however, it will creep up higher over time. This happened to me not too long ago. I totally agree with 55g's statement.

[TD="colspan: 2"]Hello all. I use ounces only because my wife has a soap making hobby and the scale is always setup in the kitchen. :) My table is above. has worked for me for the past 9 months.....doing a weekly 3.5 gal water change.

Hmm... I always did the cup method and undercut/adjust as needed... I almost always mix it a little bit high as I don't do many water changes and the skimmer takes out some salt over time. Not much, but just a hair high...
