So I'm in the process of setting up a RSR 250. I want to do a reef octopus space saver skimmer. Any idea if the space saver 150 would fit in the sump?

It has a smaller footprint than the BM Curve 5 so yes it would fit.

I just ordered my RSR 250 and a M1 pump. Where did you get your bottom crates? Also any advice as to what I need to get from Home Depot or does everything fit like a glove?

I got the egg crate from Home Depot and I also got the a 2" piece of 3/4" PVC to go the blue fitting on the M1 to and then 2 fittings to connect the Reefers return hose to
