I have an opportunity to pick up a brand new Redsea Reefer tank in a trade. This would be the tank only; no plumbing, sump or stand. I am considering moving the overflow and putting it on a short end and running it like a peninsula.

Thought process is to cut the silicone to remove the overflow. Remove the REDSEA bulkhead crap and clean up any silicone. Have a piece of glass cut for the whole bottom and silicone it down and seam it like starboard. Drill 1" overflow, 1" emergency, 3/4" return through both pieces. Install bulkheads and then the overflow. Pull off the vinyl on the back and there you go, a 4' peninsula.

This works because I could build a custom stand for the place I would put it and use the trigger 39 and ato.

For the experts out there what do you see for problems? Concerns? Am I wasting my time?

There was a thread on here in the past where someone deleted the overflow but in my useless searching skills I could not locate it.

I did this very thing on my red sea reefer except i did not turn it into a peninsula. You can search into my threads to find it.

I was looking for your thread. Have you had any issues with it so far?

None at all. Its been running for about 2 months and my only issue is algae lol
