I have been using a old pair of MP40s that I bought used (white controller with quite drive wet sides) they work but they are noisy. As I said they are very old so I am know that new MP40s are probably much quieter. I have decided I no longer wish to use them for a number of reasons. I have been looking over options for replacement and the two models in the subject appear to be the best options for what I am looking for. I never expected when I bought a Reefer 525 that the 3/4" glass would really limit the options available.
I am torn because I think i could run the ReefWave's with both of them on the back wall horizontal and free up the side glass from the current tank wart (mp 40), it is one of the examples that RedSea shows. I could put the SDC into the same position; however, so that isn't really a reason for one over the other.
I could also keep the ReefWave high in the tank and point one side skyward and the other anywhere else and get good surface agitation. This could be countered by I could buy 3 SDCs for the cost of 2 ReefWave's and end up doing something similar.
Right now the SDC is winning in my mental argument due to the 5 year warranty.
Any thoughts or feedback would be appreciated?
