Ok I’ve tried too get this skimmer to work again but can’t. I raise it try to lower it. Nothing. Fills to fast then over flows. Ive let run but spews water. I’ve cleaned it. haven’t been able to test water I have charged the water 10% three times this week. I got a redsea 300 skimmer and 91 gal tank that about two months old. Any advice I’d appreciate it

do you have filter socks or any other mechanical media? Is the valve all the way open? A friend has the 900 and it did take a while for it to settle in.

i do have one sock and got ceramic in the other. i open the drain line valve to drain the fill up. I had it working but now I dunno what I done. thought it would settle

Have you changed your socks recently? And as stated above full open on both air and outlet, let it settle down.

I have same skimmer on reefer 350 and it overflowed for 2 weeks....just raise it to prevent overflow and lower it bit by bit till fully broken in....then works great

Alright thanks everyone

Yes either way I turn it didn’t help.

You want the air inlet wide open and the water outlet wide open to.
I have this skimmer, what is the air intake you're referring to. Mine just has the silencer->attached to the airline->venturi.

Thanks

At the top of the tube on the side is an air intake silencer. There should be a hole in the top of the plastic fitting there. My skimmer has micro adjustable top here to open or close the air intake hole. Closing it creates wetter skim. All the way open is dry skim. Is the red sea adjustable here to? I leave my air intake completely open for dry skim.

The RSK doesn't have anything adjustable, just two holes at the top of the silencer. Lol, you had me thinking "hey where's my valve?"

The only picture I could find on the internet showing the silencer.
