I’ve just changed to a Redsea skimmer. From a skimming perspective I’m very happy but there is an incessant hum which is starting to annoy the wife - not a good place to be!

Has anyone put some sound proofing on the door of the sump to quieten down the noise (I’m sure this problem doesn’t just relate to the Redsea) and, if so, did it work? Any other ideas?
For reference it’s not touching the sides of the sump. The water level is just above the recommended height - would this make a difference?
Looking for ideas before I make any moves.

Possible try to place on a sheet of egg crate assuming the skimmer is brand new? Would give it some time to break in. I’ve also been looking at grabbing one of these.

I did think of this but because of the feet (which would slip through the egg crate) it would have to be a couple of layers - I thought this might give it more to vibrate against? I will try though as you never know.

Just to say the skimming is great. It’s a bigger unit than I thought and uses up most of the Front section of the sump of my Reefer 170.
