Setting up a new 150g. Just coming back from a 5 year break. The excitement feels like the first time, but this time I feel more prepared. So my first rookie mistake is not sticking to my Fish list. While on a family vacation we went into a really nice fish shop. My family is really into the tank and picking fish this time around. My wife spots a red tail filefish in the owners frag tank. I was shocked to see him in the frag tank. I asked the owner if he had a death wish for his coral and he proceeds to tell me that Redtail is one of the best fish he has ever owned and it is completely reef safe (sps). He then tells me he has another one. I'm a super sucker to my wife picking out fish, so we get him. I come home and start researching........ crap I was right and should have stayed on my fish list. Every internet site says not reef safe. Currently I have Fish only in my tank and I could get him out, but what are your thoughts? anyone else have a Redtail file fish in a Reef tank(sps)? I would like to keep him but not at the cost of expensive SPS later.

I have one, he is great in my mostly sps reef
