Is there a trick to reduce salt creep on dosing and ATO tubes? I have to clean these once a week from getting clogged up. Cleaning the tubes usually consists of me squeezing the salt out of the tube with my hands. Not the most innovative way I suppose. Any suggestions?

It depends on what is causing the salt creep. If the element you are dosing goes not need to be dosed into fast flowing water, you can prevent a build up on the tip by dosing into a humid environment. To do this you can make a tube that extends below the surface of the water and contains the dosing tube inside it. Again this will only work for stuff that does not need rapid mixing.

Here are some pics of a set of four that I whipped up from syringes to test this in situ. Worked great for dosing the Red Sea Coral Colors additives.

You mention ATO tube. The ATO tube should get no salt creep unless it is extending below the water level?

God I love the ingenuity of reefers. I'm adding this to the "THINK TANK" bible.

Are your tubes submerged under water? Or are the tube getting submerged under water when the return pump is turned off?

If they are, raise the tubes up so that they don't get submerged.
