Reducing Airflow to Reef Octopus 110int

I put in some Dr Tims first defense, as with freshwater I've been acustomed to using aloevera or stress reducing products on aquarium changes. It made my skimmer go crazy so i waited a day and have no change.

My resolution was to install 2 bleeder valves to reduce the airflow to a point where it would stay level.

Is this going to hurt the product?

It should not but I’d be leery on adding aloe with the trace elements within the system

Aloe for fresh, i realize how bad of an idea that might be for marine. We got the idea from some products including it, and cutting a fresh piece of aloe seems to be an incredible stress reducer when we make tank changes and add new fish, and especially in QT.

Maybe it's not a great idea for fresh either, but it feels like its saved us from a lot of finrot on new fish.
