My Ph has been consistent for a year. I’ve not done anything to the tank to change chemistry that I know of. I do a 2% auto water change daily.

My Ph goes from 8.1 to 8.3 on a sine wave for months and months. This last week, it has been bumping from 8.31 to 8.42 and back down. I’m not certain how concerned I should be other than it’s a change that I cannot explain.

Any thoughts on this? I readily admit that I don’t understand the role of Ph other than I don’t want any rapid changes.

My fresh SW is 8.2 when I just tested it.

Maybe my probe is reading high?
Do I need to scrub my mixing tank?
Or do I need to do something to lower my PH?
I just don’t know.

When was the last time you calibrated your probe? My readings tend to start running higher the more the probe gets out of calibration.
