Hi all! - best way to reduce phosphates? I have a 30 gallon tank and getting a bit of hair algae - tank has been running 1 year. Frequent water changes addresses the issue but it's a pain. i have no sump, would a hob reactor be the best method? I'm currently running chemipure elite and it's not helping too much.

Make sure you are using a good protein skimmer and rodi water. Rinse your frozen foods and don't overfeed. Have your source water checked to make sure it has no phosphates.

Kents Phosphate Remover. Use as recommended and you'll be good to go. I myself used it on my 40g system and it worked wonders. Turn my GHA white within 32hrs and then disapered. Really awesome stuff. Just reads the reviews on Amazon or MarineDepots website, good stuff.
