I use a Photon V2+ on two tanks, in the same room. I agree the programming is tedious, and in my scenario, I must unplug one of the lights so as to not affect the programming of the other. But really, once you program it, the light is set and forget, put the controller in a drawer and don't monkey with it. The lights themselves are very well designed, aesthetically pleasing, very quiet, and put out great par/pur/spectrum. If you have an Apex, you can connect and control them with the addition of a new add on module. Excellent coverage and no spotlighting like you may get with single puck like fixtures. Some claim disco ball effect, but I haven't seen that in my tanks. Good luck with your selection.
