Hello,
Recently bought 2 reef keeper (light(s) for a great price however only have one SLX module and looking for another. also wondering if the lite version can be hooked up via Ethernet with that module as well if yes where could I purchase one.

would I also need to update MyReef 2.0 software ? I downloaded the one from the forum here that is now closed for comments.

Thanks for any replies.

From the looks of it digital aquatics has gone away from aquarium controllers and has closed thier support section. Shame i liked my reef keeper, looks like ill be upgrading away from that in the near future.

2.0 is acceptable and the best way to assure SLX will work is to hook up current one you have and see if it compatible. If so, you can seek another.
Although no longer in business RK units are still very reliable pieces of equipment and there is still an active forum that will offer support for you

I'm not sure if you mean connecting the system to a computer to use MyReef or connecting the system to the internet for remote monitoring.

If you mean connecting to a computer to use the MyReef software then yes it can be connected from an SLX module but you need the SID cable. That cable plugs into the SLX, or any other module, on one end and has a USB connection on the other to connect to the computer. The computer connection and MyReef software aren't necessary, since all regular functions can be programmed through the control head, but many users like to use the software rather than navigate the string of menus from the control head. MyReef allows a couple of "nice to have" features, like module naming and graphing, but it is not required to use the unit.

If you mean connecting the RK lite to the internet then Digital Aquatics made a different module for that. The NET module was notoriously difficult to setup and a lot of people found it impossible to use.

There are a number of YT videos on the RK Lite and plenty of people here that can help if you have questions.

Ya I know theybare out of business seems whenever the equipment is found it is still rather on the pricey side for some reason.

It still works though so no real reason to upgrade unless ya just plain want to or do not have spare parts laying around.

Thanks I will look into that

As for the others that have replied thanks as well and yes I was hoping I could hook up via internet as well in the future if it suits my needs not sure on what features etc having internet grants me though.

Anyone know the pros and cons of the internet module ?

The reason why they are still somewhat pricey I believe is because they are so easy to set up and use. I have 2 of them and they work perfect so I have not switched to anything else.

I plan on upgrading because i need the alarm updates, prefer an awc setup, and im out of town for 9 months at a time so the piece of mind and visability of apex is great, not that i dont trust my wife to take care of it, theres only so much she can do while at work.
