Hello, I'm looking to update my lighting on my 125Gal reef tank. I came across the Radeon G5, Red sea 90s, or the Reefbreeders Photon V2 are there any others that may be more cost effective and still provide good reef coloring?

You'll get a thousand different answers for a question like this. I can tell you that I'm running ReefBreeders on two of my tanks and I have LPS and SPS growing just fine.

For the money, I think the Photon V2 is the best budget option but there are certainly other available that will do the job. Other lights that work well are the AI Hydras, Orphek Atlantic, Kessil, or Reef Fi.

For a real budget light, I have found the Nicrew Hyper Reef to work well when using with the Kessil Spectral Controller X. Lots of lights out there that will work well. You just need to decide what features you want, how you want to mount them, and how much you want to spend on them.

I’m running a Reefbreeder 48 on my 120. As @lpsouth1978 points out it’s a good value light. Programming is tedious but that’s my opinion.

If cost isn’t a limiting factor I’d look at AI Primes
