In my 180 gallon reef aquarium, I made the mistake of using two products Red Sea's Algae Management and Seachem's Pristine waste management control. This has turned into my worst nightmare! I have a heavy bacteria "slime" that I cannot remove. I have changed water 8 times and stopped using the products for 4 months and it still remains. This slime does not hurt the fish or corals but clogs up the filtration system auto top off and filter socks which could make the take over flow. Other than a UV light, any ideas ??

I had a similar problem. I never did address it with anything other than filtration, water changes, it took a long time. Hope someone else can chime in with something more helpful.

Good luck, I will tag along.

What was the daily dosage of each?
