Reef Breeders Photon 48-V2 Best Settings?

70% white...I didn’t think folks ran them that high, but appears to be working great for you. Look real good! How long did it take you to get to that setting?

I started at like 60% on blues and 30% on whites. Basically bumped the blues 10% per week then when they were maxed I started to move the whites up 10% per week or every other week. I also have two of the supplemental royal blue bars running with these.

ended up using the SPS schedule but reduced the percentage on each channels a little. Basically I run the blues in the morning at a very low percentage then the whites then in the evening time back to the blues

Do you mean the lumen bars? I'm picking up a 24-v2 pretty soon and im not sure whether the lumen bars are worth it or not. Do you find any differences with them on?

You can see a slight hint of more blue with them on. For me it's more about reducing potential shading. They are definitely work the $100 for the non-dimming ones that he has left over.

I think i will get the lumen bars. I wonder if theres a way to hang t5 bulbs on the light like the bars. That would be cool

I was thinking about getting lumen bars for mine but I decided on 2 rows of lights instead. The fact that the lumen bars aren't controllable like the Vs threw me off

I’ll probably be doing it soon. It will be easy. Aluminum angle is what I currently use to connect the two lights and use one hanging kit. I’ll do something like that and attach the reflectors to the aluminum.

Hi Velcro,

Are you saying you want to add T5's? If so why?

Have you thought about slightly angling your two fixtures(15-20degrees) and also mount your two V2s so they are not mirrored but opposite to fill in and mix/match the colors. This may give you better overall performance/consistency as well as reduce any possible disco effect.

.

It is not because of lack of performance or disco. I have no issues with either of those. Sometimes I just miss that blue glow from t5 :)

I run two 24" v2 fixtures on my 30x30x24" cube. I have them roughly 18" above the water and run them at 100% RB, blue, violet. 20% red and green and 70% white. That's the main photoperiod of like 7 hours. I ramp a couple hours around that 7 hours with mostly blues.

This is how things look under them.
