I just picked up a 175 Watt MH and 2x24 watt T5 combo fixture for my 60 cube mixed reef tank.

I'm looking to add a bit more pop to the colors, and am thinking about a Reef Brite strip. I don't know a whole lot about them, however. Should I go with the 24inch model? Would the 12 inch be sufficient? How about the XHO vrs the "regular" version?

I would just go with the 24in XHO model, but I don't want to burn the corals, and I'd rather not spend $200 on supplemental LEDs.

Eric, just get a regular 24" reefbrite all blue. Great for dusk/dawn and adds pop with daylights.
Mine cuts thru on my 6 bulb t5

MBG...

Are you running a 24" T5? I'm just curious, your statement about the reefbrites cutting through the T5 is interesting to me.

TIA.

He has a four four tank with 6x54 watt (4 foot) T5s (and a REALLY nice tank at that).

Thanks E. I'm surprised that the LED cuts through the T5 like he says. So I assume he's using 4' reefbrites?? I've been debating what in the world to do with my tank in terms of lighting.

Thanks again, E.

48" ReefBrite. With the 6 bulbs on, the ReefBrite cuts thru just enough to notice. But with just a couple bulbs on its a huge difference.

Yea.i have the 24 reefbrites with my t5, and it still gives a nive pop to my corals.

Mini hijack here but is there anything compareable to a reef bright that is less expensive?

Not much. I've had current powerbrites and stunner strips. Also seen tru lumen pro's. either they don't have the spread or they don't have the penetration.

My one ReefBrite, mounted on the front of my light, covers the tank front to back and top to bottom.
