I currently have 2 AI Primes (non HD) on a 20 long sps tank. Because of spotlighting some shadowed areas of my frags have started to die. I'm thinking about adding 2 LumiLIte actinic strips to help with this shadowing. Will these two strips add much par to my tank?

From 11am to 6 pm (UV 100%, Violet 100%, Deep Blue 100%, Blue 100%, Green 10%, Red 10%, Cool White 40%. And then from 6 to 10 (UV 100%, Violet 100%, Deep Blue 79%, Blue 80%, Green 4%, Red 4%, Cool White 19%)
Between 6 and 10 its like BRS AB+ setting but since I don't have the HD version I set the UV and Violet to 100%

i had the old prime on my jbj 30 and had no problems with my sps as long as my parameters. you should be doing fine with two. how high are they of the water line?

They're 9" away. I raised them from 8" to 9" and it helped a little with shadowing, but i still wanted to add a couple of the LumiLite strips to help with shadowing. I just didnt know how much par these strips put out.

if your budget allows you to id go for that Aquatic life hybrid fixture. especially if you dont mind to upgrade tank sizes. The 36in would be a great fit and you'll be able to grow anything with that! and you'll have the option of running 2bulbs with leds or 4 bulbs with leds. T5 bulbs are much better than the LumiLites. I run Reefbrite XHOs and T5bulbs on my current tank.

I would like the hybrid setup, and i thought about getting the 24” version and using the inner two T5 sockets. Since it’s 18” wide i assume only the two inner bulbs would be over a 12” deep tank. And changing the tank, stand and filtration is a lot of work just to upgrade to a 36” light lol.

I meant that you would have that light fixture on the ready if and when you upgrade. Granted you'd be limited to 36in of light space lol

I see what you're saying. My goal was to have a nice 20 gallon sps tank. But it turns out its a bit more difficult than I anticipated. lol
