Reef brite vs SB reef bar

yeah sorry for the late reply, hope i answered all the questions.

Awsome chunk of information, thank you! Do you happen to have any photos of the lights in action on your tank?...for comparison?

I did awhile back, In another post. I no longer have the photo so you might have to look up the post sorry. I csn do another in a few weeks when its setup again

that's ok... appreciate the response. I went ahead and ordered one myself. Sbreef seems to make good products so figured I'd take the plunge and try it.

Can anyone tell me if the light SPREAD is better on the Reefbrite XHO vs SBar strips? I don't think I've seen anyone comment on it?

It absolutely is. Sbar is more focused prob due to having lenses vs none on RB.

Do you run the SB Bar at full intensity and if so for how many hours?

Well I ordered the sb actinic 60”. Does orphek make a 60” yet? I have their 48” and also the reef brite 60”.

OP:

Can you post photos of both endcaps? I’m going to mount mine to my 60” reefbrite and want to start thinking about brackets.

Also, I’ve read the acrylic shield directly under the UV led portions can burn the acrylic and brown it out, this, people drill out the acrylic under those uv’s eventually. Have you encountered this?

Thanks

Here is the testing for just the 3 bar without the t5
Are these PAR values with just 1 LED strip, or two?

Sounds like you have experience with all three brand of strips, although different lengths. I'm looking to add actinic strips to my MH setup, I'm not overly concerned with par just whats most pleasing to the eye and give the best all blue pop. Which one do you think delivers the best all blue look? Also, which one seems to be the best build quality /overall run the coolest?

Thanks,

Matt

Go with the lumi lite from reefbrite. They produced nice color and doesnt break the bank if you’re just looking dor colornpop

That was my thought but I'm looking to implant these into the t5 section of my 6' spectra fixture. They look like they may be too wide for the section though.

Just go to home depot and get a little bracket or make your own to bolt on to both side of the lumi lite so it can be bolt on to each end of the ATI fuxture on each side. If you put those strip inside the ATI, it will shorten the life because the lumi lite heatsink wont be able to handle the heat from the ATI

I see what you're saying but I'm looking for a clean AIO look while getting MH plus led. The t5 is separate from the MH section. I plan to replace the 4 t5 with 2 led, 1 each side. The led with be off while MH is on, so I don't see the added heat being much of an issue. Unless the led itself runs very hot.

I added Orphek on the sides of my Giesemann Infinite, added bonus is it blocks additional light spill and the lights hit at a different angle.
